How Kilomo keeps early product analytics and route planning data deliberately limited.

Updated: 2026-05-08

What Kilomo is

Kilomo is a route-based fuel-price comparison tool for cross-border drivers. The service compares public fuel-price data, route distance and route detours so a driver can decide whether a fuel stop is worth it.

What we collect

When you compare a route, the browser sends the coordinates needed to calculate that route. They are used for the live route request and are not written to the product analytics log.

Kilomo records privacy-safe analytics events so we can understand whether the product works. These events contain aggregate fields only.

  • Language selected on the site.
  • Origin and destination country, when available.
  • Origin and destination kind, such as city, place or address.
  • Fuel type selected.
  • Whether a route result, recommendation, out-of-coverage message or external navigation click happened.

What we do not store in analytics

Kilomo does not store exact origin or destination addresses in analytics. Kilomo does not store latitude or longitude in analytics. Kilomo does not store IP address or raw user-agent in analytics.

Why we process this data

We use the analytics log to check whether route search, recommendation quality and external navigation handoff are working. The purpose is product reliability and product improvement during launch.

Retention

During the launch period, analytics logs are kept only as long as they are useful for debugging and product decisions. As usage grows, Kilomo should set a fixed retention period and delete or aggregate older raw event rows.
